Job summary

Inherent Technologies in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Java Lead Developer to drive design, development and delivery of enterprise insurance applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices and AWS.

You will mentor teams, define API strategy, oversee CI/CD pipelines and ensure scalability, security and performance in distributed systems. This onsite, 1-year engagement requires strong leadership and hands-on coding across backend and frontend frameworks.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java 8/11+ for enterprise environments.
• Strong Spring Boot and Spring Cloud knowledge.
• Experience building distributed, scalable systems.
• Hands-on AWS cloud experience (EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS).
• Proven ability to lead and mentor development teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of Java-based enterprise apps.
• Oversee full stack development with Java (Spring Boot) and UI frameworks.
• Define microservices architecture and API strategy.
• Provide technical mentorship, code reviews, and best-practices enforcement.
• Design cloud-native apps on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS).
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and event-driven microservices.
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
• Define integration patterns and system workflows.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Integrate with insurance platforms (Guidewire).
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and containerization with Docker/Kubernetes.
