Job summary

Zühlke, a global transformation partner, seeks a Java Fullstack Engineer to join multidisciplinary teams delivering enterprise web and cloud solutions. You will collaborate with customers, design robust software, and mentor teammates in agile environments.

With 4+ years of Java experience and hands-on skills in Spring Boot, REST APIs, and front-end frameworks (Angular/React/TypeScript), you will contribute across the full software lifecycle, from ideation to production, including DevOps

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of proven Java development experience with OO design.
• Strong Java ecosystem knowledge and best practices.
• Proficient in Java Fullstack with modern JS/TS frameworks (Angular/React).
• Expertise in Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, databases, RESTful APIs, messaging, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with microservices, container orchestration and Agile teams.
• Fluent in German and English (C1).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with customers to understand their business and translate requirements into high quality software.
• Visit our customers around 2-3 times per week.
• Engage with developers on your team to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code leveraging methodologies such as pair- and mob-programming.
• Coach & support team members to fully unlock their potential and grow as a team.
• Support the entire software lifecycle with your Dev-Ops mentality from ideation to production.
• Automate quality checks right from the start using techniques such as test-driven development and specification by example.
• Continuously keep up to date with the latest technologies & trends and share your knowledge.

• You have a Bachelor’s degree (FH, Uni, ETH or similar) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• You have more than four years proven experience as a Java Developer with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming and best practices.
• You put the customer first and support the project’s success as a Java Fullstack Engineer with the latest JavaScript and TypeScript frameworks such as Angular, React or similar frameworks in the frontend.
• You bring expertise with many different technologies, such as Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, databases, RESTful APIs, messaging, container orchestration, microservices and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• You are experienced in agile methodologies and have worked within agile development teams.
• You use AI-augmented engineering practices and tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to build better software, faster.
• You are an excellent communicator, team player and problem solver and are fluent in German and English (at least C1 level).
