Job summary

Deloitte in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Full Stack Java Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications and microservices in a client-facing role, aligned with business objectives. The position emphasizes cloud-native development and DevOps practices, with on-site client collaboration across EST/CST.

You will work across the full software lifecycle, contribute to Agile ceremonies, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of professional software engineering in a client-facing or delivery role.
• 4+ years of experience developing applications with Java and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security).
• 3+ years designing, developing, or consuming RESTful APIs and working with microservices or distributed architectures.
• 3+ years building applications that integrate with relational databases via SQL, Hibernate/JPA, Spring Data, or similar ORM.
• 2+ years writing unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, or TestNG; experience with peer code reviews.
• 1+ year of experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines, containerization, or cloud deployment technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications and microservices that integrate with REST APIs and databases.
• Build and maintain full-stack applications using Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and distribute microservices using scalable design patterns.
• Design and optimize database integrations using SQL, Hibernate/JPA, and Spring Data with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Implement application security practices (OAuth2, JWT, encryption) and secure data handling.
• Support CI/CD and cloud deployment activities using Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical design discussions, peer code reviews, troubleshooting, and testing.
• Communicate effectively with client and internal stakeholders to translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
