Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Java Full Stack Developer for a 6+ month onsite contract in McLean, VA. The role centers on building robust REST APIs with Spring Boot, ensuring code quality with JUnit, and delivering reliable CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.

You will work with JaCoCo for test coverage, Git for collaboration, and modern cloud-ready tooling in a financial services context, including knowledge of SQL and message brokers. Pay ranges $65-$70/hour with benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have skills: Java Full stack, JUnit, Java testing framework.
• 5+ years of Solid experience with JUnit and/or other automated testing frameworks; commitment to high test coverage.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem (REST APIs, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, etc.).
• 2-3 years of experience with Jenkins and JaCoCo technologies
• 2-3 years of experience with Git in a collaborative, team-based development workflow (branching strategies, PRs, code reviews).

Responsibilities

• Code Quality & Testing: Use JUnit to write and run unit tests with high coverage.
• Debt & CI/CD: Integrate JaCoCo to measure code coverage and reports.
• Develop and maintain Jenkins Pipelines for CI/CD workflows.

Immediate need for a talented Java Full stack Developer. This is a 06+ Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in McLean, VA (Onsite). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Key Responsibilities

• Code Quality & Testing: Utilize the JUnit Framework to write and execute unit tests, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
• Technical Debt & Continuous Improvement: Integrate JaCoCo to measure code coverage and generate detailed reports, identifying areas for improvement.
• Develop and maintain Jenkins Pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes, ensuring seamless CI/CD workflows.
• Design & Code Reviews: Actively contribute to testing discussions, pull request reviews, and technical documentation with a focus on thoughtful, stable solution.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business conversations.
• Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving ability.
• Familiarity with relational databases and writing complex SQL queries.
• Experience with message brokers or event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) in a financial services context.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD pipeline tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
• Experience using JIRA or similar tools for Agile planning, sprint tracking, and delivery management.
• Prior experience in financial services, Client markets, or fintech environments.
• Working knowledge of fixed income concepts : duration, convexity, spread, option-adjusted spread (OAS), and related derivatives.
