Job summary

Synechron in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a skilled Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and RESTful APIs. You will work with Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native tech to build robust, secure applications for our financial services clients.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement API security best practices, containerize with Docker, orchestrate with Kubernetes, and contribute to CI/CD.

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer with expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable microservices and RESTful APIs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native technologies, with a passion for building robust, high-performance, and secure applications.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Jersey City, NJ is $100k - $120k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and design principles.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and related frameworks.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with API documentation tools like Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Familiarity with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Knowledge of database technologies: SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Proficiency with version control systems (Git).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Good understanding of security practices such as OAuth2, JWT, and API security.

Preferred, but not required:

• Experience with automated testing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI.
• Knowledge of serverless architectures is a plus.
