Job summary

New York Technology Partners is looking for a senior Java/J2EE engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise web applications. You will build RESTful services, develop UI components with Angular/React, and implement Spring-based backends in a collaborative, Agile environment.

Responsibilities include CI/CD, testing, performance tuning, and working with both SQL and NoSQL databases. Onsite or hybrid options in Richmond, VA or Atlanta, GA are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering.
• 7+ years of Java/J2EE development.
• Proficient in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security.
• Experience with Angular or React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.
• Experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
• Strong OOP, design patterns, SDLC.
• Experience with NoSQL (MongoDB) and relational DBs (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Git-based source control.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum.
• Experience with AI prompting tools Copilot, Devin, Windsurf, Spec Driven development.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in software development with Java/J2EE technologies.
• Strong proficiency in:

• Proficiency with Git-based source control systems.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience with Copilot, Devin, Windsurf for AI prompting, Spec Driven development

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
• Knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging platforms.
• Experience with GraphQL and API gateway technologies.
• Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven, SonarQube, and CI/CD practices.
• Understanding security standards, OAuth2, JWT, and OWASP best practices.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, or Cypress
