Job summary

Ethereum Technologies seeks a backend engineer to design architecture and develop reusable MCP servers, tools, APIs, and data integration services enabling secure consumption of curated data by AI agents.

The role requires hands-on Java/Spring Boot and Python development, RESTful API design, microservices, and strong SQL skills. Collaboration with architects and data teams is essential to translate business needs into scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java/Spring Boot and Python for scalable backend services.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, microservices, and reusable integration components.
• Strong SQL and data platform experience; Starburst/Trino preferred.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, API security, and performance optimization.
• Familiar with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and containerization.

Role Description:

Designs the architecture and develops reusable MCP servers, tools, APIs, and data integration services to enable secure and efficient consumption of curated data by AI agents and applications.

Core Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on development experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Python for building scalable backend services and applications.
• Experience designing solution architectures, RESTful APIs, microservices, and reusable integration components, with the ability to apply these skills to MCP server and tool development.
• Strong SQL skills and experience integrating applications with relational databases and data platforms, preferably Starburst/Trino.
• Experience building secure, high-performance data access services to query and expose curated data to downstream applications and AI agents.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, API security, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Strong software engineering practices, including Git, CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and containerization.
• Ability to collaborate with architects, data engineers, and application teams to translate business requirements into scalable, reusable technical solutions. Preferred / Added Advantage
• Understanding of LLMs, agentic AI architectures, tool calling, and MCP, with the ability to support data agent development.
