Job summary

Machine Learning Technologies, LLC in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a backend engineer to design architecture and develop MCP servers, tools, APIs, and data integration services for secure, scalable AI data consumption.

You will build RESTful microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Python, implement robust data access, and collaborate with architects and data engineers to translate requirements into reusable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong Java, Spring Boot, and Python development skills.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong SQL and data integration with relational databases (Starburst/Trino preferred).
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, API security, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and containerization.

Role Description:

Designs the architecture and develops reusable MCP servers, tools, APIs, and data integration services to enable secure and efficient consumption of curated data by AI agents and applications.

Core Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on development experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Python for building scalable backend services and applications.
• Experience designing solution architectures, RESTful APIs, microservices, and reusable integration components, with the ability to apply these skills to MCP server and tool development.
• Strong SQL skills and experience integrating applications with relational databases and data platforms, preferably Starburst/Trino.
• Experience building secure, high-performance data access services to query and expose curated data to downstream applications and AI agents.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, API security, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Strong software engineering practices, including Git, CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and containerization.
• Ability to collaborate with architects, data engineers, and application teams to translate business requirements into scalable, reusable technical solutions. Preferred / Added Advantage
• Understanding of LLMs, agentic AI architectures, tool calling, and MCP, with the ability to support data agent development.
