Job summary

Quantum Technologies LLC is seeking a backend architect/developer to design MCP server architectures and build reusable data integration services. You will craft secure, scalable APIs and data access layers using Java, Spring Boot, and Python, while aligning with architects and data engineers to deliver reusable components for AI agents and applications.

The role emphasizes RESTful design, microservices, and containerized deployment, with strong emphasis on security, performance, and CI/CD

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on development with Java, Spring Boot, and Python for backend services.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration components for MCP server and tools.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases and data platforms (Starburst/Trino).
• Experience building secure, high-performance data access services for downstream apps and AI agents.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, API security, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and containerization.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions; collaborate with architects and data teams.
• Understanding of LLMs, agentic AI architectures, tool calling, and MCP.

Role Description:

Designs the architecture and develops reusable MCP servers, tools, APIs, and data integration services to enable secure and efficient consumption of curated data by AI agents and applications.

Core Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on development experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Python for building scalable backend services and applications.
• Experience designing solution architectures, RESTful APIs, microservices, and reusable integration components, with the ability to apply these skills to MCP server and tool development.
• Strong SQL skills and experience integrating applications with relational databases and data platforms, preferably Starburst/Trino.
• Experience building secure, high-performance data access services to query and expose curated data to downstream applications and AI agents.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, API security, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Strong software engineering practices, including Git, CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and containerization.
• Ability to collaborate with architects, data engineers, and application teams to translate business requirements into scalable, reusable technical solutions. Preferred / Added Advantage
• Understanding of LLMs, agentic AI architectures, tool calling, and MCP, with the ability to support data agent development.
