Job summary

SAIC in Ashburn, VA seeks a highly capable Senior Full-stack Java Developer to craft scalable microservice architectures using Java/Spring Boot and modern frontend frameworks. You will work in a distributed team, employing AWS, Kubernetes, Oracle and Postgres databases, and participate in design reviews while delivering robust software across all layers of the stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering field with 14+ years of technical experience or Master's and 12+ years.
• Provisioning, operating, and maintaining systems running on AWS (or equivalent cloud providers).
• Solid experience with backend systems using Spring Boot.
• Java Frameworks such as Spring.
• UI development skills, specifically with Angular 19+.
• Database operations (Oracle and Postgres).
• Hibernate.
• JMS.
• XML, JSON.
• SQL, JDBC.
• Unix, Linux.
• Kubernetes.
• Experience with object-oriented analysis and design techniques.
• Thorough understanding of infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, storage, monitoring, security etc.) and have experience with orchestration to develop a cloud solution.
• React, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• High level of self-motivation, desire to deliver stellar solutions and willingness to work in a distributed team environment.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior level developers.

Desired Skills And Experience

• Master’s in Computer Science or related field.
• Familiar with OAuth.
• Developing 100% automating unit tests using SOAP-UI, Selenium, or equivalent tools.
• Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools (Git and Gradle/Maven).
• Load Balancing and Enterprise Service Bus frameworks (preferably under Cloud environment).
• Agile Scrum and possibly experience with leading a Scrum team as a scrum master or equivalent.

Customer Requirements

• Clearance – Ability to obtain and hold a public trust position and favorable suitability based on a CBP Background Investigation.
• Citizenship – Must be a US Citizen.
• Location – Required to be on-site in Ashburn, VA office 2 days per week and if a mission need. All candidates must be within the GWA/commutable area.

Target salary range $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
