Job summary

SAIC is seeking a junior-level Java/JEE Developer to join our team in Ashburn, VA. The role is 100% on-site in Ashburn for the first year, with 2 days per week on-site after the first year.

You design and implement microservices with Spring, using Eclipse/VS Code and Atlassian tools for design, development, and testing. Requirements include a BS in computer science or related field with 2+ years of Java/J2EE experience, AWS Lambda, HTML/CSS/JS, and knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 2+ years of technical experience.
• 2+ years of Java J2EE/JEE design and software development experience on large-scale enterprise systems.
• Experience with AWS Lambda and cloud-based serverless services.
• Experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, Angular, React, React-Native, NodeJS.
• Spring-based microservices development; Spring Boot focus.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL DBs and SQL query development.

SAIC is currently seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented junior-level Java/JEE Developer to join our team in Ashburn, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career. This position will be 100% on-site in Ashburn, VA for the first year of employment. 2 days per week on-site after the first year.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and implement microservices using the Spring framework.
• Use modern software engineering tools including Eclipse, VS Code, and Atlassian Suites for design, development, and testing the software.
• Present the solution at formal and informal design reviews, and document the design according to the Government’s system lifecycle methodology.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering field with 2+ years of technical experience.
• 2+ years of Java J2EE/JEE design and software development experience including designing, developing, and documenting large-scale enterprise software systems.
• 2+ years of working with Applications on Cloud utilizing serverless hosted services like AWS lambda.
• Experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, Angular, React, React-Native, NodeJS.
• Development of microservices using Spring. Primarily Spring Boot.
• Experience wiring up code to perform highly efficient CRUD operations on DBMS such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB with JDBC, JPA, Hibernate etc.
• Experience with NoSQL DBs like MongoDB, DocumentDB, DynamoDB etc.
• Developing and debugging complex SQL queries.
• Some experience and familiarity with Unix, Linux systems and commands along with some shell scripting.
• Experience with object-oriented analysis and design techniques.
• High level of self-motivation, desire to deliver stellar solutions and willingness to work in a distributed team environment.

Desired Skills And Experience

• Master’s degree in computer science or related field.
• First‑hand experience working with large project teams (working with the Federal Government a strong plus.)
• Experience working on an agile team such as Scrum.
• Experience writing code to interact with AWS services (e.g., S3, SQS, Lambda, Elasticache, MongoDB etc.)
• HTML and CSS.
• Docker, Konvoy, Kubernetes.
• Jenkins, Gitlab, Monitoring Tools.

Customer Requirements

• Clearance – Ability to obtain and hold a public trust position and favorable suitability based on a CBP Background Investigation.
• Citizenship – Must be a US Citizen.
• Location – This position will require on-site work in Ashburn, VA 5 days per week for the first year of employment.

Target salary range $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
