Job summary

PRIMUS Global Services in Durham, NC or Burlington, NC, seeks a Senior Java Developer to modernize critical lab systems. You will work on Java 11–21, Spring Boot, AWS, microservices, and messaging stacks to deliver scalable solutions.

This hybrid role requires three onsite days per week and hands-on experience with REST APIs, CI/CD, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, Git, and databases such as PostgreSQL/Oracle. DynamoDB and Kafka/RabbitMQ are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java 11–21 in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Hands-on AWS (Lambda, S3, SQS) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Proven ability to design RESTful APIs and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hybrid work setup with 3 days onsite per week in NC.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java-based applications for modernization of lab systems.
• Design and implement microservices with Spring Boot on AWS.
• Collaborate with teams, ensure quality using CI/CD, Jenkins, and SonarQube.
• Work in a hybrid model with 3 onsite days per week in Durham or Burlington, NC.

We have an immediate need for an experienced Senior Java Developer with strong expertise in Java 11-21, Spring Boot, AWS, Microservices, and messaging systems to support a modernization initiative for critical laboratory systems.

This is a hybrid position based in Durham, NC or Burlington, NC, requiring 3 days onsite per week for a candidate with deep experience in Java 11-21, Spring Boot, AWS Lambda, S3, SQS, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, Kafka/RabbitMQ, Microservices, REST APIs, CI/CD, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, Git, SonarQube, SQL, PostgreSQL/Oracle, and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.
