Job description

Avum is seeking a skilled and experienced Java Developer to support the implementation of a Contract Writing System for the Navy.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Write micro-services in Java and Spring Boot Framework and Angular to support functions for the Contract Writing system that are developed and managed in multiple environments.
• Create SQL queries and build tables and views for Oracle database for related micro-services.
• Design secure code compliant with ASD STIG requirements and other government security and compliance requirements, as well as remediating vulnerabilities discovered by code scans.
• Build unit tests for micro-services.

What You Will Need:

• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or certification.
• A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on development in Java, Spring, Hibernate, and Angular.
• Experience managing Java projects with Maven.
• Ability to design complex architectures.
• Strong ability to coordinate with internal and external teams to troubleshoot and debug issues in a complex, cloud-hosted environment.

It's A Plus If You Have This:

• Familiarity with software engineering tools, software development methodology, and release processes.
• Terraform experience.

Location:

The candidate will be required to interact and coordinate with external project team members and other Avum employees remotely, supporting core Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours. As a remote employee, there will be no permanent office or desk space, but in-person meetings and travel to government sites in Washington, D.C., and Avum's office in Agoura Hills, California, may be required. Our priority is acquiring the most qualified candidate to perform the tasks effectively, regardless of geographical location.

Note: This fully remote role requires participation in virtual meetings using tools like Microsoft Teams. Availability during EST core hours, Monday through Friday, is required.
