Job summary

Erie and Niagara Insurance in New York is seeking a full-time Java Developer for our IT Department. This role is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, maintaining and documenting software applications and components that support the company’s business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or minimum five years’ experience.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Proven experience in object-oriented analysis, design and programming.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop new software applications
• Develop an understanding of the business
• Assist in executing recurring tasks
• Monitor help desk (phone and e-mail)
• Create technical specifications and test plans
• Create new and extend existing operational documentation
• Consult colleagues concerning maintenance and performance of software systems
• Assist in companywide system upgrades as needed
• Investigate and develop skills in new technologies
• Perform other related duties as required

Salary Range: $75,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and develop new software applications
• Develop an understanding of the business
• Assist in executing reoccurring tasks
• Monitor phone and e-mail based help desk
• Create technical specifications and test plans\
• Create new and extend existing operational documentation
• Consult colleagues concerning maintenance and performance of software systems
• Assist in companywide system upgrades as needed
• Investigate and develop skills in new technologies
• Perform other related duties as required
