Day-to-Day

• Develop and maintain Java-based microservices (80% hands-on coding)
• Build and enhance cloud-native APIs using Spring Boot
• Work on containerized environments using Kubernetes/OpenShift
• Contribute to internal cloud platform engineering initiatives
• Collaborate within Agile sprint teams (standups, sprint planning, etc.)
• Participate in test-driven development (Cucumber)
• Support continuous integration and deployment pipelines
• Contribute to R&D efforts for container base image technology
• Work closely with internal stakeholders across 8 Lines of Business
• Assist with QA/testing gaps and release processes when needed

This individual will join a highly innovative engineering group responsible for building and delivering internal cloud technology platforms used across multiple lines of business. This is a hands‑on, R&D‑focused role where the majority of time will be spent coding Java microservices using modern frameworks like Spring Boot.

The ideal candidate is a strong Java developer with experience in containerized cloud environments and a passion for building scalable, API‑driven solutions. This role provides exposure to cutting‑edge tools including Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud‑native architectures while working in an Agile environment. Candidates who are excited about engineering, demonstrate strong programming fundamentals, and enjoy working on modern infrastructure solutions will thrive in this role.

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of hands‑on Core Java development
• Strong experience building Java Microservices (Spring Boot)
• Experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, backend services)
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker/Podman
• Experience with Terraform (or Terraform Enterprise - TFE)
• Familiarity with Helm and container orchestration
• Experience with Git (branching, merging, pull requests)
• Knowledge of Linux and systems automation
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Experience with Cucumber (Test Driven Development)
• Strong understanding of API development and cloud-based architecture
• Demonstrated advanced Java programming knowledge
• Experience with Golang
• Exposure to AWS cloud environments
• Experience in financial services or banking industry
• Experience with release management or QA/testing support
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
• Passion for R&D and engineering innovation
