Job summary

Akkodis in Austin, TX is seeking a Java Developer to design and implement features supporting identity verification and Patriot Act compliance. This on-site role requires strong Java and Spring Boot experience, familiarity with MongoDB and SQL, and collaboration within Agile teams.

The candidate will contribute to onboarding new vendor offerings, participate in testing, debugging, and code reviews, and help maintain high-quality software across the full development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on Java and related frameworks.

Job description

Work Schedule: On-site, 40 hours per week

Rate Range: $60 - $67 an hour (rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors)

Primary Requirements

• TOP 3 Must have skillsets: Java, Spring Boot, AI
• "Nice to Have" Skillsets: Splunk, Angular, and SQL Database

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance features supporting Identity Verification and Patriot Act Verification initiatives.
• Contribute to the integration and onboarding of new vendor offerings.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum team activities.
• Collaborate with team members throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support testing, debugging, and overall application quality.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with the Spring Boot application framework.
• Understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and Scrum.
• Proficiency with version control systems, specifically GitHub.
• Knowledge of databases, including Mongo and SQL.
• Strong testing and debugging skills.
• Familiarity with JUnit or other Java testing libraries.

Preferred Skills

• Self-motivated and proactive.
• Eagerness to engage and collaborate with other developers on the team.

Education & Experience

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on Java and related frameworks.
