Job summary

The Pennsylvania Courts are seeking a Java and Database Developer to support critical services that exchange information between court case management systems and external agencies.

Responsibilities include Java development with Spring Boot, Spring Batch, IBM MQ, REST APIs, and scheduled workflows, plus production operations support and targeted refactoring in legacy systems to preserve data integrity and integration contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT and 2 years IT experience in database and application support.
• Experience developing and maintaining Java Spring Boot services and REST APIs.
• Hands-on SQL, stored procedures, and database logic; familiarity with Maven and enterprise messaging.

Responsibilities

• Develop, debug, maintain, and tune SQL, complex stored procedures, views, and triggers.
• Develop and maintain Spring Boot services, REST APIs, batch processes, and message-based integrations.
• Provide production support for issues, on-call rotations, data discrepancies, and outages.
• Support IBM MQ, APIs, messaging, file transfers, and scheduled workflows across systems.
• Improve performance, logging, stability, and recovery of Java and database components.
• Diagnose defects, trace business logic, and perform controlled refactoring in legacy apps.
• Test, debug, and review changes before release per procedures.
• Collaborate with analysts, DBAs, developers, and operations to deploy reliable changes.
