GCS Recruitment Specialists seeks a Java Data Engineer IV (Contractor) in Philadelphia, PA to design and maintain scalable ETL pipelines and cloud-based data platforms. You will develop Java-based services, migrate legacy workloads, and build robust data flows using Databricks, Snowflake, and AWS in an Agile environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into reliable data solutions, implement Terraform infrastructure, and lead CI/CD automation

Competenze

• 7+ years of software engineering or data engineering experience.
• Strong Java development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
• Experience building ETL or data integration pipelines.
• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Concourse, Jenkins, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of software testing, quality assurance, and production support.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL and data engineering pipelines.
• Build data pipelines that ingest, transform, and load enterprise data into Databricks.
• Develop and enhance Java-based applications and microservices supporting data processing.
• Partner with engineering teams to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions.
• Build, test, and optimize pipelines using AWS, Databricks, and Snowflake.
• Create technical documentation, design specifications, and support quality assurance efforts.
• Develop infrastructure using Terraform for repeatable cloud deployments.

• Troubleshoot production issues and provide post-deployment support.
• Improve reliability, reduce single points of failure (SPOF), and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Enhance and modernize legacy data engineering jobs while supporting cloud migration initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish engineering best practices and improve platform performance.
