LEIDOS is looking for full-time instructors for the following languages: Japanese.
Job Requirements:
- Instructors will provide 3-5 hours of instruction daily in courses at ILR 0-3. They will undertake tester training to become certified language testers and conduct 3-4 language tests per week thereafter.
- The position involves instructing students in speaking a foreign language and understanding the culture of the area or country to teach culture through communication.
- Instructors must be able to develop class materials and training aids to meet customized student needs.
- Contract linguist instructors should have strong foreign language skills and work under the guidance of experienced senior instructors.
- Candidates should be familiar with current events in the countries where the languages are spoken.
- Upon joining, instructors will receive sponsor training on foreign language teaching and testing to meet sponsor standards.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience, or 8-12 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
- B.A. degree obtained in the U.S. or the country of language proficiency.
Language Testing:
- All candidates must pass a foreign language test administered by LEIDOS or approved vendors (3-hour standard translation test).
- Required scores: at least 4 or higher on translation; 4/4/4 on speaking, listening, and reading tests.
Security Clearance:
- No clearance is required to apply.
- Candidates who pass the tests will be sponsored for security clearance and upgrades as needed.
- TS/SCI with polygraph clearance is required; linguists cannot start work without fully adjudicated security clearance.
