Job Title: Japanese Bilingual Sales Representative

Work Location: Downtown Los Angeles

FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-Time, Direct-Hire

Overview:

A Japanese Sake manufacturer is seeking a highly motivated Sales Representative to maintain and expand sales, cultivate relationships with distributors and restaurants. The role involves 80% managing existing client relationships and 20% identifying and securing new business opportunities. The ideal candidate should have business-level proficiency in English and advanced Japanese, with over two years of B2B sales experience, preferably in the food and beverage industry.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, restaurants, and clients.
  2. Increase product awareness and sales through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Provide prompt and excellent customer service.
  4. Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations.
  5. Attend weekly meetings and update on sales performance.
  6. Plan and execute promotional activities such as food festivals and conferences.
  7. Identify and pursue new business opportunities and negotiate contracts.
  8. Coordinate brand activations with internal and external partners.
  9. Research market trends, competitors, and consumer preferences for strategic insights.
  10. Travel as needed, approximately 20%, to foster relationships and attend industry events.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Japanese and English bilingual proficiency at business level in English and advanced in Japanese.
  • Experience in B2B sales is required.
  • Strong understanding of Japanese culture.
  • Food, beverage, or alcohol industry experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~20%).
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends occasionally for events and meetings.
