Position

Japanese-Bilingual IoT Project Manager

Summary

We are seeking a Japanese-Bilingual Project Manager for a growing tech company that is gaining significant attention from government agencies and industries across Japan, the US, Europe, and Southeast Asia. In this role, you will manage the progress of joint development projects with Japanese automotive and electronics manufacturers and serve as the primary point of contact for our clients in Japan. Beyond traditional project management, you will be at the forefront of driving exciting, forward-looking initiatives, including utilizing AI for business automation and innovative proposals. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can take strong ownership, work closely with the management team, and proudly represent our company as its face.

Essential Duties

• Manage the progress of joint development projects with Japanese automotive and electronics manufacturers.


• Communicate directly with Japanese clients and prepare documentation, including monthly reports, in Japanese.


• Prepare and drive operations for trade shows, exhibitions, and various proof-of-concept (PoC) experiments.


• Coordinate seamlessly with internal engineers and overseas partners.


• Manage administrative workflows related to quotes, purchase orders, and invoices.


• In addition to traditional project management, plan and execute AI-based proposals, prototyping, and task automation.

Monday - Friday; 8 hours per day

Qualifications

• Fluent in Japanese (written and spoken), with proper Japanese business etiquette (approx. 90% of daily email communications are in Japanese).


• Business-level English proficiency (written and spoken).


• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Employer sponsorship is not available for this position.


• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and internal team members.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Haves)

• Proven experience as a Project Manager.


• Experience in the automotive industry.


• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field.


• Experience working at a Japanese company or doing business with Japanese corporate clients.


• Experience in managing and operating exhibitions/trade shows.


• Solid understanding of IT, AI, and IoT technologies.


• Experience creating apps, scripts, automation tools, or presentation materials using AI (acceptable whether from work, hobbies, or side projects).


• Experience or basic familiarity with Cloud services (e.g., AWS) and Python.
