Job summary

Alignerr Corp. is seeking a Japanese Language Expert to help evaluate and improve AI systems trained on Japanese content. The role is remote, hourly contract, with a minimum of 15 hours per week and asynchronous collaboration.

Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in Japanese.
• Experience teaching Japanese or evaluating learner language.
• Fluent in English (C1/C2).
• Familiar with CEFR frameworks.
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated Japanese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality.
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+.
• Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps using expert judgment.
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic, and culturally authentic Japanese.
• Provide structured, actionable feedback that improves AI tutoring and language-learning models.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts.
