Job summary

The Arc Erie County NY in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Janitorial Training Specialist to lead three 12-week training cycles annually and prepare individuals with developmental disabilities for entry-level janitorial jobs. Deadline-driven with requirements including a valid NYS driver’s license, and First Aid certification (or 90-day certification).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher plus 1 year full-time janitorial experience.
• Associates degree plus 3 years’ full-time janitorial experience.
• High school diploma plus 5 years’ full-time janitorial experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare students for entry level employment running three (3) 12-week training sessions per year.
• Create volunteer opportunities that utilize students’ janitorial talents to benefit the community.
• Work one-on-one with individuals to complete cleaning tasks and model a positive work ethic.
• Develop internship sites, identify mentors, and forge employer partnerships to lead to job placements.
