Job summary

Harvard Maintenance, Inc. is seeking a Field Supervisor to oversee janitorial operations across multiple buildings in New York. You will lead a team of porters and matrons, assign tasks, and ensure the highest cleaning standards while maintaining client satisfaction and safety compliance.

The role requires at least 2 years in a supervisory janitorial position, experience with forklifts and ride-on machines, and strong leadership and communication skills. Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Janitorial Supervisory or Lead role.
• Experience operating forklift, stripping and waxing, auto scrubbing and ride-on machines.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Tech-savvy; able to use smartphones/tablets for scheduling and reporting.
• Ability to train staff, conduct inspections, and ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Review and process work tickets for task completion and accountability.
• Perform routine maintenance and checks on general cleaning equipment.
• Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning operations to deliver exceptional results.

A day in the life:

What you’ll need to be an Extraordinary Team Member

• Previous experience in the janitorial field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Janitorial Supervisory or Lead role
• Experiiece and knowledge on using a forklift, stripping and waxing, auto scrubbing machines and ride on machines.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment
• Ability to train staff, conduct inspections, and ensure safety compliance
• Tech-savvy; able to use smartphones/tablets for scheduling and reporting
• Organized, reliable, and able to work flexible hours
