Job summary

IslandWood in Bainbridge Island is seeking a Janitorial Services Assistant to maintain cleanliness in our facilities. Responsibilities include assisting with event setups and breakdowns, routine cleaning, and ensuring campus security.

Ideal candidates will have at least 6 months of janitorial experience in the hospitality industry and a commitment to equity and inclusion. This part-time position offers a pay rate of $21.07 per hour and requires a Washington State driver's license.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months experience of professional janitor work in the hospitality industry.
• Washington State driver’s license and ability to obtain any licenses required for system or vehicle operation.
• Must pass child safety screening procedure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with event setups and breakdowns.
• Event cleaning, routine cleaning, and occasional deep cleaning projects.
• Cleaning and mopping classrooms, bathrooms, and other buildings.

Job Details

Classification: Part Time Flex

Pay Rate: $21.07 per hour

Work Schedule: Mornings, Evenings, or weekends

Work Location: On-site / Bainbridge Island Campus

This position is eligible to receive Sick & Safe leave with a maximum annual accrual of 40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist with event setups and breakdowns including lifting and moving furniture
• Event cleaning, routine cleaning, and occasional deep cleaning projects
• Scheduled turnovers and cleaning of classrooms, bathrooms, dining room, and other buildings
• Cleaning, mopping, window cleaning, waste removal, recycling separation
• Communicate inventory and equipment status to the Hospitality Services Manager
• Campus security and nightly lock‑up of buildings; evening emergency assistance

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months experience of professional janitor work in the hospitality industry
• Be able to understand and follow safety guidelines
• Must be physically able to walk, stand, bend, twist, turn, kneel, stoop, climb ladders and stairs
• Able to use hand tools and push, lift and carry up to 70 pounds
• Washington State driver’s license and ability to obtain any licenses required for system or vehicle operation
