Job summary

ServiceMaster in Northwest Houston is seeking part-time evening janitors to create cleaner, healthier environments for our clients, students, and staff. Two openings, paid training, competitive pay, and flexible schedules.

Key duties include facility cleaning, inventory, PPE usage, site security, and other tasks as assigned. Prior janitorial experience is a plus but not required; we provide on-the-job training. A positive, dependable attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years of custodian/janitor/housekeeper exp is a plus but not required.
• On-the-job training provided for those with strong work ethic.
• Experience with professional janitorial companies or schools is a plus.
• Flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking role.
• Positive attitude — in uniform, dependable, and on time.
• Respect for coworkers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Clean facilities: sweep, mop, polish, trash, windows, and move furniture.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Follow PPE requirements and wear safety gear.
• Open/lock facilities and manage security systems.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

About the Role

As part of our evening janitorial team in Northwest Houston, you'll create cleaner, healthier environments for our customers, their students, and the grounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Facility Cleaning — Sweep, mop, polish, remove trash, clean windows, and move furniture and equipment using ServiceMaster products, tools, and procedures.
• Inventory — Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Safety — Use proper PPE where required, including hard-toe shoes, hard hat, and safety vest.
• Site Security — Open and lock facilities, and arm and disarm security systems as required.
• Additional Duties — Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• 2 years of experience as a custodian, janitor, or housekeeper is a plus, but not required.

Physical Demands & Qualifications

• Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, and reaching overhead and forward.
• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to read cleaning instructions and distinguish between cleaning products and their proper uses.

Schedule — 2 Positions Available

Shift Times

• Monday – Friday: 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
• Sunday: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Weekly Schedules

• Position 1 (40 hrs/week) — Works Sunday – Thursday | Off Friday & Saturday
• Position 2 (40 hrs/week) — Works Friday – Tuesday | Off Wednesday & Thursday
• Position 3 (32 hrs/week) — Works Wednesday - Saturday | Off Sunday, Monday & Tuesday
