Job summary

ServiceMaster in Northwest Houston is hiring part-time evening janitors to join our trusted team. You will help create cleaner, safer environments for our clients, students, and facilities during the 6:00 PM–10:00 PM shifts.

All positions offer paid training, a competitive hourly rate, and opportunities for advancement in a positive, collaborative atmosphere. No prior experience is required, and on-the-job training is provided for motivated individuals.

Qualifications

• 2 years of custodian/janitor/housekeeper experience is a plus.
• On-the-job training provided for those with a strong work ethic.
• Experience with professional janitorial services or facilities is a plus.
• Must be flexible and able to multitask.
• Positive, dependable, and punctual in uniform.
• Respect for coworkers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Facility Cleaning — Sweep, mop, polish, remove trash, clean windows, and move furniture and equipment.
• Inventory — Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Safety — Use proper PPE where required, including hard-toe shoes, hard hat, and safety vest.
• Site Security — Open and lock facilities, and arm and disarm security systems as required.
• Additional Duties — Other duties as assigned.

About the Role

As part of our evening janitorial team in Northwest Houston, you'll create cleaner, healthier environments for our customers, their students, and the grounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Inventory — Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.

What We're Looking For

• 2 years of experience as a custodian, janitor, or housekeeper is a plus, but not required.


• On-the-job training provided for those with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.


• Experience with a professional janitorial company, office complex, hotel, hospital, or school is a plus.


• Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking role.

Physical Demands & Qualifications

• Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, and reaching overhead and forward.


• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs.


• Ability to read cleaning instructions and distinguish between cleaning products and their proper uses.

Schedule — 2 Openings

All shifts run 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM.

• Position 1 — 20 hrs/week | Works Sunday – Thursday | Off Friday & Saturday


• Position 2 — 20 hrs/week | Works Friday – Tuesday | Off Wednesday & Thursday


• Position 3 — 16 hrs/week | Works Wednesday – Saturday | Off Sunday – Tuesday
