Kellermeyer Bergensons Services (KBS) is hiring a Porter to join our Janitorial Services Team in Phoenix. This hourly, non-exempt role starts at $16.00 per hour with 5pm–1:30am and 10pm–6:30am weekend options, offering opportunities to deliver cleaning excellence and strong customer service in a fast-paced environment.

As a Porter you will interact with customers, prioritize daily tasks, and apply cleaning best practices across high-traffic sites.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and move totes up to 49 pounds.
• Stand and walk for 10–12 hours per shift.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and chemical safety sheets (English; Spanish where required).
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• KBSPresence timekeeping app usage and cell phone reimbursement provided.

Responsibilities

• The Porter provides excellent cleaning services, interacting with customers and prioritizing daily work based on customer needs.

These are hourly, non-exempt, positions.

Starting Pay: $16.0 per hour

Shifts Available

5pm to 1:30am Monday to Wednesday, Sat, Sun 10pm to 630am

Position Summary

• The Porter provides excellent cleaning services, often requiring the need to interact with customer and prioritize work based on the customer daily work needs. This role requires work to be completed in high volume and heavy traffic sites, or as an onsite individual crew member, where successful daily customer interaction and fulfillment of related requests, within the scope of site work, is key.
• The Porter works directly with the customer daily and maintain excellent customer relations while executing customer requests and meeting daily janitorial duties.
• The Porter has a broad knowledge of cleaning and janitorial processes.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to lead and provide solutions to various problems.
• Other responsibilities as directed by manager.

Requirements For Our Porter Positions

• Ability to lift and move totes up to 49 pounds
• Walking in and around the facility with great frequency throughout the entire shift
• Must be able to stand and walk for up to 10-12 hours
• Ability to carry out detailed, or written instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe handling for chemicals sheets/documents (generally in English; may have in Spanish where state required)
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
• KBS utilizes the KBSPresence mobile timekeeping software for accurate recording of employee work hours, attendance management, completion of required training, and distribution of important employment-related information. All non-exempt employees are required to download and use the KBSPresence app on their personal mobile devices to clock in and out for their shifts and breaks. In accordance with applicable local laws, cell phone reimbursement is provided to support the use of personal devices for work-related tasks.
