Job Title: Janitorial Maintenance

Summary:

The Janitorial Maintenance position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly manufacturing environment, including production areas, restrooms, offices, breakrooms, entryways, and common spaces. This position performs routine and deep cleaning tasks to support daily operations, ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards, and promote a professional workplace for employees and visitors. The role requires the ability to work independently, follow established procedures, safely handle cleaning equipment and chemicals, and perform physically demanding tasks in an industrial setting.

Essential Functions:

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, breakrooms, and office areas
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and maintain production floors and common areas
• Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the facility
• Clean entryways, windows, doors, and high-touch surfaces
• Remove dust, debris, paint residue, and other contaminants from designated areas
• Restock supplies such as paper products, soap, and cleaning materials
• Operate cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, vacuums, etc
• Follow procedures for handling and disposing of waste and hazardous materials
• Report safety hazards, maintenance issues, or supply needs to supervision
• Follow all company safety rules, OSHA regulations, and work instructions
• Maintain positive interpersonal relationships and work collaboratively as a team member
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; support continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives

Work Environment and Physical Expectations:

• Occasional outdoor work may be required, which may involve performing tasks outdoors in diverse weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, wind, and snow
• Work environment involves regular exposure to fluctuating temperatures, high noise levels, airborne fumes or dust, and potential contact with mechanical, chemical, or electrical hazards. Due to these occupational risks, employees are required to follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policy
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking, sitting for less than 5% of the shift
• Requires the ability to frequently engage in repetitive physical motions such as bending, stooping, squatting, climbing, and pushing or pulling objects
• The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 75 pounds, for any lifting exceeding 75 pounds, a team lift is required
• Must be able to perform fine motor tasks such as handling and feeling, requiring manual dexterity to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; must also be able to reach with hands and arms and communicate effectively through speech and hearing, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Minimum Job Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED preferred
• Demonstrated history of reliability and strong work ethic
• Excellent verbal communication, organizational skills, efficient time management and attention-to-detail skills
• Ability to read, understand, and follow general work instructions and safety procedures
• Willingness and ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
• Previous janitorial, custodial, or industrial cleaning experience preferred but not required

Schedule:

First Shift: 7am-3:30pm

Monday to Friday; occasional Saturday as needed

Second shift: 3pm-11:30pm

Monday to Friday; occasional Saturday as needed

Third shift: 11pm-7:30am

Sunday to Thursday; occasional Friday as needed
