Job summary

IFS is seeking a Janitorial Crew Member to join our fast-paced team. Shifts are variable, including days and weekends, with up to 30 hours per week as needed. You will clean and maintain floors, restrooms, and equipment, and report facility issues to supervisors.

Experience in cleaning, effective communication, and a willingness to perform additional duties are required. Benefits include health and life insurance and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Experience in building and warehouse cleaning work.
• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.
• Communication skills to relate to officials, staff and public in a courteous manner.
• Disposition to perform other duties as assigned.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe handling for chemicals sheets/documents (generally in English; may have in Spanish where state required).

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain building floor surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, degumming and spot cleaning.
• Clean furniture, walls, glass, mirrors, fixtures, machines and other equipment.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Service, clean and supply restrooms.
• May move furniture or other items manually or with hand truck.
• May extract carpet (small jobs).
• Prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
• Monitor and report facility issues requiring repairs.

Shifts Available

Floater position as needed. up to 30 hours per week

Summary Of Duties

• Clean and maintain building floor surfaces, including but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, degumming and spot cleaning
• Clean furniture, walls, glass, mirrors, fixtures, machines and other equipment (e.g. Dust, wash, vacuum, and polish)
• Gather and empty trash
• Service, clean and supply restrooms
• May move furniture, light fixtures or other items manually or with hand truck
• May extract carpet (small jobs)
• Execute proper use of all equipment
• Clean and maintain cleaning equipment per instructions (e.g. rags, mops, machines, tools and buckets)
• Prepare cleaning solutions (water, detergents and other chemicals) according to specifications
• Monitor and report facility issues requiring repairs (notify Lead, Site or Zone Manager)
• Monitor building security and safety (lock doors after operating hours and ensure electrical appliances are turned off, etc.)
• Properly stack and replace cleaning items and tools
• Ensure supplies are available for each shift
• Report supply requisition needs to Lead/Manager
