Job summary

IFS is seeking a Janitorial Crew Member to join our fast-paced facilities team in West Chester, PA. This full-time role offers a flexible schedule with days/nights and weekend shifts, and opportunities for leadership growth within a dynamic, union-represented environment.

You will clean and maintain floors, restrooms, furniture and equipment, gather trash, and monitor for facility issues, while ensuring supplies are stocked for each shift. Benefits include health, life, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Experience in building/warehouse cleaning.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Good communication with staff and public.
• Read safety rules and chemical handling docs (English; Spanish where state required).

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop floors; vacuum and scrub surfaces.
• Clean furniture, walls, glass, and fixtures.
• Empty trash and service/restrooms; replenish supplies.
• Monitor facility for issues and report to management.

IFS has an immediate full-time opportunity to join our Janitorial Services Team as a Janitorial Crew Member. Work Schedule: Days/nights vary, including weekends

Shifts Available:

5 PM 9 PM

Summary Of Duties:

• Clean and maintain building floor surfaces, including but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, degumming and spot cleaning
• Clean furniture, walls, glass, mirrors, fixtures, machines and other equipment (e.g. Dust, wash, vacuum, and polish)
• Gather and empty trash
• Service, clean and supply restrooms
• May move furniture, light fixtures or other items manually or with hand truck
• May extract carpet (small jobs)
• Execute proper use of all equipment
• Clean and maintain cleaning equipment per instructions (e.g. rags, mops, machines, tools and buckets)
• Prepare cleaning solutions (water, detergents and other chemicals) according to specifications
• Monitor and report facility issues requiring repairs (notify Lead, Site or Zone Manager)
• Monitor building security and safety (lock doors after operating hours and ensure electrical appliances are turned off, etc.)
• Properly stack and replace cleaning items and tools
• Ensure supplies are available for each shift
• Report supply requisition needs to Lead/Manager

Requirements For Our Janitorial Crew Member Position:

• Experience in building and warehouse cleaning work.
• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.
• Communication skills to relate to officials, staff and public in a courteous manner.
• Disposition to perform other duties as assigned.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe handling for chemicals sheets/documents (generally in English; may have in Spanish where state required).
