Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties at K-12, college, or university campuses. The role offers $20.00 per hour with benefits. Entry-level friendly, on-the-job training provided, and no high school diploma required.

Responsibilities include cleaning designated areas, trash removal, recycling, and maintaining restroom and common areas, while following safety and quality procedures set by ABM and clients.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, office, and stairways.
• Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
• Regularly check trash receptacles, emptying as needed, in all designated areas.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager concerning repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Establish and maintain communication with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
• Sort and dispose of recycling into proper receptacles.
• Dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings and walls; polish hard surfaces.
• Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas manually or with hand trucks.
• Clean interior partition glass, windows, and mirrors with soapy water or cleaners.
• Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other seasonal tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and comply with safety and quality standards.

• Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceiling, and walls Polish hard surfaces, e.g. woodwork, stainless steel surfaces
• Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks
• Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
• Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks
• Maintain the cleanliness of restrooms (clean and polish as needed)
• Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior customer service experience
• One (1) year of prior similar work experience.
