Job summary

Dierbergs Markets is seeking a Janitorial Associate to keep our stores clean, safe, and presentable for customers. You will perform a wide range of cleaning and maintenance tasks, respond to maintenance requests, and operate cleaning equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to safely use cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to work independently.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
• Prompt and regular attendance.
• Adherence to dress code, appearance and personal hygiene standards.
• Hepatitis A vaccination required for MO food handling departments.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of cleaning and general store maintenance functions to keep the store clean and presentable for customers.
• Respond quickly to intercom requests for maintenance help and cleanups.
• Ensure indoor and outdoor areas are presentable at all times.
• Safely operate general cleaning equipment such as a scrubber, buffer and trash compactor (must be at least 18 years of age to operate trash compactor).
• Monitor and clean aisles, offices, and restrooms using company approved cleaning supplies.
• Perform minor repairs using hand tools and routine replacements, such as changing light bulbs.
• Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following OSHA regulations.
• Complete wet and dry cleanups.
• Select proper cleaning solutions for various surfaces.
• Hang banners and promotional items that require use of ladder.
• Maneuver and tip trash cart.
