Job summary

Dierbergs Markets is seeking Janitorial Associates to keep our stores clean and well-presented. The role covers cleaning, maintenance requests, and ensuring both indoor and outdoor areas look their best. You will operate scrubbers and buffers, perform minor repairs, and follow OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• Age 16+ required and able to work varied schedules.
• Strong attention to detail with safe chemical handling.
• Willing to install banners using a ladder.
• Read basic information such as chemical names and labels.

• Adherence to dress code and personal hygiene standards.
• Vaccination for Hepatitis A in MO (food handling areas).

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and general maintenance to keep the store clean.
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests and intercom prompts.
• Keep indoor and outdoor areas presentable for customers.
• Operate scrubber, buffer, and trash compactor safely (age 18+ for trash compactor).
• Monitor and clean aisles, offices, and restrooms with approved cleaners.
• Perform minor repairs with hand tools and replace items as needed.
• Follow OSHA safety requirements to prevent injuries.
• Complete wet and dry cleanups and use appropriate solutions.
• Hang banners/promotional items using a ladder, and move trash carts.

Janitorial Associate Part & Full-Time Opportunities Dierbergs Markets

Janitorial Associates keep our stores clean and running at the highest level. They are independent and have a strong attention to detail which helps with their responsibilities:

• Perform a wide range of cleaning and general store maintenance functions in order to keep the store clean and presentable for customers
• Respond quickly to intercom requests for maintenance help and cleanups
• Ensure that both indoor and outdoor areas are presentable at all times
• Safely and efficiently operate general cleaning equipment such as a scrubber, buffer and trash compactor (must be at least 18 years of age to operate trash compactor)
• Monitor and clean aisles, offices, and restrooms using company approved cleaning supplies
• Performs minor repairs using hand tools and routine replacements, such as changing light bulbs
• Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following OSHA regulations
• Complete wet and dry cleanups
• Select proper cleaning solutions for various surfaces
• Hang banners and promotional items that require use of ladder
• Maneuver and tip trash cart

Essentials

• At least 16 years of age
• Strong attention to detail and ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, requiring an understanding of chemical names and product labels
