Job summary

Casa de Fruta in Hollister, California is seeking a Maintenance/Janitorial worker to help keep the Plaza area clean, safe and inviting for guests. This role combines building maintenance with routine janitorial tasks across indoor and outdoor spaces.

Responsibilities include cleaning bathrooms, mopping, waxing floors, trash removal, window cleaning and basic repairs. Candidates should be able to operate hand and power tools, follow instructions, and work independently in a dynamic outdoor

Responsibilities

• Maintain Plaza common areas, including cleaning bathrooms, mopping floors, waxing and stripping wax on large floors, emptying trash and collecting litter.
• Clean windows, walls, dust large areas interior and exterior, replace light bulbs, and perform minor maintenance as needed.

Position purpose: Ensures clean, safe and beautiful environment for guests in Plaza area. This position includes Building Maintenance and Janitorial functions.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks: (material responsibilities and essentials duties):

Maintain Plaza common areas, including but not limited to: Clean bathrooms (clean toilets, sinks, mop floors, clean mirrors, replace paper products, empty trash, clean walls), mop, wax, and remove (strip) wax on large floors manually and/or using motorized stripper/buffer, empty large trash receptacles, collect litter, hose down surfaces, power wash surfaces, sweep, remove gum, remove graffiti, clean windows, walls, dust large areas interior and exterior, remove bird nests and other animal debris and waste, replace light bulbs, drive to work areas using electric or gas powered golf cart or company truck. Paint and perform other minor maintenance tasks as needed, use ladders and stepstools as needed.

Qualifications:

Able to operate hand and power tools, able to follow verbal and written instructions, able to independently evaluate current conditions against standard and perform tasks necessary to bring areas to standard.

Special Position Requirements:

Must be able to safely operate motorized vehicles (company truck, golf cart), large power tools (string-trimmer, power wax stripper/buffer, power washer) and small power tools (drill, sander etc). Able to do tasks ambidextrously (wipe, sweep, operate hose, etc). Some exposure to cleaning products (bathroom and toilet cleansers, window cleaners, wax, wax stripper, graffiti remover, paint remover etc), paint, weed killer and other chemicals.
