Job summary

Tessera is seeking a motivated and reliable Janitor to join our team at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Lakewood, WA. You will perform a variety of cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal, working with a teammate on an assigned route. The role requires swing shift availability from 4:00 p.m.

to 12:30 a.m. and a commitment to a full-time schedule. Compensation is paid hourly with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional development.

Responsibilities

• Restroom cleaning including sanitation and restocking supplies.
• Office cleaning including sweeping, mopping and vacuuming.
• Halls and high-traffic area cleaning per schedule.
• Entrance and exit cleaning including doors and floors.
• Trash removal and liner replacement across facilities.
• Supply restocking and regular housekeeping tasks.
• Dusting in restrooms and locker/shower areas.
• Stairwell and shower area cleaning.
• Maintain organized janitorial supply closet/locker.

Location: Lakewood, Washington (Joint Base Lewis-McChord) Type: Non-Exempt Work Schedule: Full-time, Swing Shift Compensation: $23.51/hour Benefits: Tessera is proud to offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to our eligible part-time and full-time employees.

Tessera is seeking a motivated and reliable Janitor with a professional attitude. As a Janitor with Tessera, you will perform a variety of cleaning tasks to include sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal. Additionally, you will work directly with a teammate on an assigned route across Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Typical Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

• Restroom Cleaning – sanitize and clean all toilets, urinals, sinks, fixtures, partitions, walls & doors. Restock supplies. Collect trash and replace liners. Sweep and mop floor. Follow cross contamination procedures.
• Office Cleaning – sweep, mop, vacuum according to schedule.
• Halls and High Traffic area Cleaning – sweep, mop, vacuum according to schedule.
• Entrances and Exits Cleaning – sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean entry doors according to schedule.
• Trash – Empty trash in office areas, lunchrooms, coffee areas, restrooms, shower/locker according to schedule.
• Supply Restocking – restock supplies according to schedule.
• Dusting – dusting in restrooms, shower/locker areas, according to schedule.
• Stairwell Cleaning – sweep, mop, vacuum and wipe handrails according to schedule.
• Shower Cleaning – clean all shower stalls, damp wipe for dust, restock supplies, mop floors following cross contamination procedures.
• Janitorial Supply Closet/Locker – keep clean and organized.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate with others in a courteous and helpful way.
• Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain stamina to perform assigned duties.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
• Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
• Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements

• Valid state driver license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance carrier.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
