About the Job

As part of the Path Enterprises team, the Janitor reports to the Property Manager and performs a wide variety of janitorial duties.

Position Responsibilities

• Maintain the facility, including grounds, buildings, common areas, elevators, dumpsters, and trash areas; keep them clean and litter free.
• Perform initial clean up and final detailed cleaning of apartment unit turnovers, including refrigerators, range/ovens, exhaust fans and filters, countertops and cabinets, sinks, vanities, tubs and showers, walls, floors, carpets, doors, and windows.
• Clean common area floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming; steam‑clean or shampoo carpets as needed.
• Inspect assigned facilities for compliance with safety standards and ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and with the goal of preventing/minimizing recurrence.
• Maintain neat, clean, and organized maintenance shop and storage areas; service, clean, and supply common area restrooms.
• Remove graffiti immediately.
• Use a pressure washer to clean sidewalks, garbage dumpsters, garages, and parking structures on a consistent schedule.
• Assist the team with coverage to other buildings within the portfolio as needed under supervisor direction.
• Provide friendly and supportive service to program and department staff in response to tickets and requests, redirecting them as necessary to management when out of scope.
• Report and follow up on all emergency/safety‑related issues in a timely fashion.
• Assist other staff as needed.
• Remain on‑call per scheduled rotation.

Minimum Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements

• Have employment eligibility verification.
• Have or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training.
• Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:
  • Tuberculosis test
  • Background screening
  • Drug test

Driving

Driving is an essential function of this position. All candidates must:

• Have reliable transportation.
• Have a valid driver’s license.
• Provide proof of insurance and ownership for personal vehicles used during work duties.
• Be able to qualify for Path’s insurance coverage.

California‑Based Work Expectations

All regular and customary work must be performed within California. Approval for work outside the office does not authorize work outside California.
