We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time JANITOR (OVERNIGHT) positions.

Location: Texas State University - 601 University Drive, San Marcos, TX 78666. (Openings at other locations within the school district are available.) Note: Online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Full-time and part-time schedules; Sunday through Thursday, 10:30 pm to 6:30 am. More details provided upon interview. (Flexibility to meet most scheduling needs)

Requirements: Prior janitorial experience is preferred but not required.

Pay Rate: $12.50 per hour.

Job Summary: Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of buildings. Performs heavy cleaning duties including floor cleaning, rug shampooing, wall and glass washing, and rubbish removal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
2. Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures.
3. Move equipment and furniture for cleaning and return to correct placement.
4. Clean assigned areas using appropriate materials and equipment. Sanitize all surfaces. Follow the eight-step cleaning process.
5. Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain cleanliness and safety.
6. Identify areas needing cleaning and complete tasks proactively.
7. Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.
8. Perform duties in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
9. Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors; shampoo carpets.
10. Contribute to team efforts; exhibit professionalism with customers, colleagues, and others.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
