Job summary

Sunrise Enterprises Inc. in Sutherlin, Oregon seeks a full-time Janitor to provide high-quality cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance for the assigned building on the 4:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

shift, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include mopping, bathroom cleaning, window washing, restocking supplies, trash removal, and more. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED (preferred), is at least 18, and possesses janitorial experience or an acceptable mix of related work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• One year of janitorial experience preferred or acceptable combination of experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Clean Guru.
• General knowledge of janitorial cleaning products and equipment.
• Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
• Able to work independently, displaying initiative and creativity in the workplace.
• High attention to detail with a heart for service.
• Pass drug screen including marijuana/THC, criminal background check, which may include fingerprints, and an additional CJIS Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Review emails, work schedule, crew assignments, and equipment & supplies required at start of shift.
• Perform detailed janitorial services per client scope: dusting, disinfecting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc.
• Utilize tools, equipment, and supplies safely and efficiently.
• Understand chemical use and SDS protocols.
• Resupply client items as instructed and maintain a safe work environment.
• Document work in janitorial software and submit documentation on time.

Job description

Position acts as a janitor for the Janitorial Services Department of Sunrise Enterprises at the Sutherlin location. The janitor will be responsible for the high-quality care, cleaning, and disinfecting of their assigned building their assigned shifts. Services provided will include but are not limited to mopping, surface disinfecting, bathroom cleaning and disinfecting, window and glass cleaning, restocking of supplies, trash removal, floor buffing, carpet cleaning, and other services.

Working Conditions/ Hours

Mostly indoors, exposure to dust, noise, manufacturing & cleaning chemicals. Typically, Monday – Friday, 4:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. Overtime, holidays, & weekends may be required.

Physical/Mental Requirements

Driving, standing, walking, sitting, stooping, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 45 lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be made for a person with a disability under ADA.

Essential Functions

• Promptly, at the start of the shift, review emails, work schedule, crew assignments, check equipment & supplies required to perform the work and comply with PPE requirements.
• Inform supervisor in a timely manner when materials or products need to be purchased.
• Perform detailed and thorough janitorial services required by the scope of work for every client. Including but not limited to dusting, disinfecting, sweeping, moping, vacuuming, washing windows, mirrors, wiping down surfaces, and trash removal.
• Utilize tools, equipment, and supplies in a safe & economical manner as prescribed by company procedures, using a “safety first” approach.
• Understand proper use of chemicals and familiar with SDS protocols.
• Resupply any client items as instructed according to the scope of work.
• Always maintain a safe work environment & immediately notify supervisor of any safety hazard.
• Always maintain security of client facilities & Sunrise’s equipment and properties.
• Perform duties and complete tasks as requested by supervisor in a reasonable amount of time.
• Utilize janitorial software to track and document all janitorial service work.
• Ensure all documentation is submitted on time in accordance with company procedures.
• Participate in required meetings, training, and committees.
• Ensure a high quality of service is delivered to janitorial clients.
• Know and follow organizational quality control guidelines.
• Conduct quality checks and document according to organizational protocol.
• Meet regular attendance requirements as assigned.
• Keep work area in a clean, safe condition.
• Other related duties as assigned.
