Job summary

Trojan Battery in Sandersville, GA seeks a dedicated cleaner to perform detailed cleaning of plant areas, assist with maintenance tasks, and ensure safety and hygiene in the workplace. You will follow Trojan Battery Quality Policies and wear PPE as required to complete duties efficiently.

Qualifications

• Read, write and speak basic English.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a lead-acid battery manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities

• Clean plant areas including lunchroom, showers, locker room, workstations, walkways and grounds.
• Complete record keeping for inspections and environmental documents.
• Perform preventive maintenance on cleaning equipment under supervision.
• Perform light maintenance like painting walls, carpentry, light repairs and replacing lights.
• Collect coveralls and towels for pickup by cleaning service.
• Operate cardboard compactor machine.
• Follow and maintain good housekeeping and hygiene practices.
• Available for various shifts and overtime.
• Understand hazardous material specifications and labels.

Position Overview

Perform detailed and thorough cleaning of plant areas: lunchroom, showers, locker room; around workstations and in walkways and grounds with efficiency, speed and accuracy. Complete record keeping associated with inspections and environmental documents. Perform the role safely and can wear all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

Responsibilities

• Understand and practice Trojan Battery Quality Policies
• Operate various cleaning equipment (Nilfisk Vacuum, hydro-retriever, sweepers, etc.)
• Perform preventive maintenance on cleaning equipment, under supervision
• Perform light maintenance duties: paint walls and doors, carpentry, light repairs, and replacing lights in any and all areas
• Collect coveralls and towels for pickup by cleaning service
• Operate cardboard compactor machine
• Follow and maintain good housekeeping and hygiene practices
• Available for various shifts, and overtime
• Understand specifications and labels associated with hazardous material
