This role is essential in ensuring a safe, clean, and organized working environment by performing routine cleaning, waste removal, and basic facility upkeep. The ideal candidate is proactive, safety-conscious, and able to work in an industrial environment.

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor/Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in our manufacturing and recycling facility. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, clean, and organized working environment by performing routine cleaning, waste removal, and basic facility upkeep. The ideal candidate is proactive, safety-conscious, and able to work in an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing floors in production, break room, locker room, and office areas.
• Collect and properly dispose of recycling materials, production waste, and general trash in accordance with site protocols.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and break rooms; replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Clean walls, windows, equipment exteriors, and other surfaces as assigned.
• Ensure safe and appropriate use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when supplies are low.
• Perform light maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing light bulbs, minor repairs).
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Report maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Support facility cleanliness during inspections or audits.
• May assist in facility shutdown or deep-cleaning operations.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial, housekeeping, or industrial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Comfortable working in environments that may be noisy, dirty, or require the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts, including weekends or evenings if needed.
