Job summary

The Center for Alcohol & Drug Treatment is seeking a dedicated housekeeping professional to maintain clean, safe facilities and grounds. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, interact with staff, visitors and patients, and participate in emergency drills and trainings.

You will perform interior and exterior cleaning, handle waste, sanitize, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and PPE guidelines while delivering respectful, professional service across CADT locations in Duluth.

Qualifications

  • Must have knowledge and skills in standard janitorial methods, practices, tools, and equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules, and knowledge of proper handling and use of chemicals.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, read and understand printed instructions.
  • Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required before direct patient contact.

Responsibilities

  • Clean interior rooms and exterior areas of CADT facilities including restrooms, walkways and entrances.
  • Clean kitchen, refrigerators and food preparation area.
  • Sweep, vacuum, mop, sanitize floors and clean walls, windows and fixtures.
  • Dispose of rubbish and waste materials.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and PPE; follow safety protocols.

Job description

Summary

This individual performs a variety of housekeeping tasks to maintain clean, orderly and safe buildings and grounds. This individual is required to work with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring respectful communication and cooperation with other team members. This individual interacts with visitors, patients and staff in a professional, helpful manner. It is essential that all staff is aware of their performance and the effect it may have on patients, visitors and colleagues. This individual will participate as a team member in emergency situations and is required to attend all assigned trainings and meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clean and service interior rooms and external areas of CADT facilities including restrooms, smoking areas, walkways, parking lots, entrances, bedrooms, dining rooms, lobbies, etc.
  • Clean kitchen, refrigerator and food preparation area.
  • Sweep, vacuum, mop, shampoo carpets/floors, scrub, strip, sanitize, wash, and buff floors using electrically powered machines.
  • Gather and dispose of rubbish and waste materials.
  • Dust blinds, furniture, cabinets, window sills, vents, etc.; polish furniture and metalwork.
  • Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, mirrors, and fixtures using step and extension ladders.
  • Make rounds of buildings and grounds at regular intervals to observe appearances and conditions of premises and identify needed repairs or safety hazards, reporting problems to maintenance via maintenance request form.
  • Follow all universal precautions, bloodborne pathogens standards, and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed while cleaning patient care areas.
  • Interact with staff, patients and visitors in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Participate as a team member in emergency situations such as behavioral control situations, fire drills and medical emergencies.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
