Job summary

The Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment (CADT) is seeking a dedicated housekeeping professional in Duluth, GA. You will clean and service interior rooms and exterior areas, including restrooms and common spaces, while maintaining a safe, orderly environment for patients and staff.

You will follow all safety rules, use PPE, and participate in emergencies and trainings. Qualifications include 18+ years, janitorial know‑how, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Knowledge of standard janitorial methods, practices, tools, and equipment.
• Knowledge of safety rules and chemical handling.
• Ability to follow printed instructions.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• CPR and First Aid certified before direct patient contact.

Responsibilities

• Clean interior rooms and exterior areas including restrooms, walkways, entrances, bedrooms and dining areas.
• Clean kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and sanitize floors with powered machines.
• Gather and dispose of rubbish and waste materials.
• Dust blinds, furniture and fixtures; polish metalwork.
• Wash walls, ceilings, windows and fixtures; use ladders as needed.
• Make rounds to observe premises and report hazards via maintenance form.
• Follow universal precautions and use PPE where required in patient areas.
• Interact with staff, patients and visitors professionally.
• Participate in emergencies and trainings as a team member.
• Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

This individual performs a variety of housekeeping tasks to maintain clean, orderly and safe buildings and grounds. This individual is required to work with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring respectful communication and cooperation with other team members. This individual interacts with visitors, patients and staff in a professional, helpful manner. It is essential that all staff is aware of their performance and the effect it may have on patients, visitors and colleagues. This individual will participate as a team member in emergency situations and is required to attend all assigned trainings and meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and service interior rooms and external areas of CADT facilities including restrooms, smoking areas, walkways, parking lots, entrances, bedrooms, dining rooms, lobbies, etc.
• Clean kitchen, refrigerator and food preparation area.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, shampoo carpets/floors, scrub, strip, sanitize, wash, and buff floors using electrically powered machines.
• Gather and dispose of rubbish and waste materials.
• Dust blinds, furniture, cabinets, window sills, vents, etc.; polish furniture and metalwork.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, mirrors, and fixtures using step and extension ladders.
• Make rounds of buildings and grounds at regular intervals to observe appearances and conditions of premises and identify needed repairs or safety hazards, reporting problems to maintenance via maintenance request form.
• Follow all universal precautions, bloodborne pathogens standards, and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed while cleaning patient care areas.
• Interact with staff, patients and visitors in a professional and respectful manner.
• Participate as a team member in emergency situations such as behavioral control situations, fire drills and medical emergencies.
• Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have knowledge and skills in standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of janitorial services.
• Must have knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules, and knowledge of proper handling and use of chemicals.
• Must have the ability to follow instructions, read and understand printed instructions.
• Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.
• Must be CPR and First Aid certified before direct patient contact.
