Job summary

Raytheon is seeking an onsite janitorial/grounds maintenance technician in Chesapeake, VA. You will perform routine cleaning, maintain facility grounds, and support related site services at an external DoD site.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED with six months of applicable experience, a clean driving record, and eligibility for DoD Secret clearance. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, and other company programs.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED or equivalent vocational/technical education.
• Minimum six months Grounds Maintenance and Janitor experience.
• Able to follow written procedures with minimal supervision.
• May require State Certified Pesticide Applicator qualification after 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of all site facilities.
• Maintain sanitary conditions including floor buffing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and cleaning of walls/windows/bathrooms/furniture.
• Maintain ROTHR facility grounds including mowing, hedges, pruning, and planting.
• Other related duties as assigned and required.

What You Will Do

• Perform routine cleaning of all areas of the site facilities.
• Perform janitorial tasks to maintain sanitary conditions including, but not limited to floor buffing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, removing trash, and wall/window/bathroom/furniture cleaning.
• Maintain the grounds of the ROTHR facilities.
• Duties also include cutting grass, trimming hedges, edging, pruning shrubs, planting grass, spreading fertilizer, and application of pesticides. Candidate will perform all other related duties as assigned and required.

This position is on a service contract with a set (non-negotiable) hourly rate of $17.75/hour.

The U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division sets the Service Contract Act (SCA) health and welfare benefit rate. The Health & Welfare benefit for this role is $6.00/hour. This fringe benefit is separate from and paid in addition to the required base hourly monetary wag

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
• Applicant must have a minimum of six months combined practical Grounds Maintenance and Janitor experience. Applicant must have the ability to comprehend and carry out the instructions outlined in written procedures with little supervision.
• If employed an excess of 12 months, the selected candidate must be able to qualify as a Registered Technician for State Certified Pesticide Applicator.
• Must have a clean motor vehicle driving record to obtain authorization to drive company vehicles.
• The selected candidate may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government issued DoD Secret clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance and to obtain any required Export Authorization.

• Current Registered State Pesticide Applicator.
• Previous or active Secret security clearance.
