Job summary

Staples Promotional Products, a division of Staples, is hiring for a custodial role in Iowa. The position involves thorough cleaning, restroom sanitation, and basic maintenance, with an emphasis on safety and independence.

Strong attention to detail and ability to lift up to 15 pounds are required. Shift hours are 3:30pm-1:00am Monday-Thursday and 12:00pm-4:00pm Friday; pay is $20.50 per hour with a $1.50 second shift premium included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior custodial or general cleaning experience.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, lift up to 15 pounds.
• Basic English language skills (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough facility cleaning, including vacuuming, floor maintenance, rug shampooing, wall/ glass cleaning, and debris removal.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners to keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and restock supplies.
• Support routine facility maintenance and report repairs needed.
• Clear snow or debris from sidewalks as needed.
• Help maintain building security by locking doors after hours and monitoring equipment for hazards.

Pay: $20.50/Hourly ($1.50/hourly 2nd Shift Premium included)

Shift Hours: 3:30pm-1:00am/Monday-Thursday and 12:00pm-4:00pm/Friday

What you will be doing:

• Perform thorough facility cleaning, including vacuuming and buffing floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing debris.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners to keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and restock supplies.
• Support routine facility maintenance, including tending the furnace and boiler as assigned and notifying management when repairs are needed.
• Clear snow or debris from sidewalks as needed.
• Help maintain building security and safety by locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use for potential hazards.

What’s needed: Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous experience in general cleaning or custodial work.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, kneel, crouch, walk, and grip throughout the work shift.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Basic English language skills (both verbal and written communications).
