Job Title: Janitor

We are hiring immediately for full-time JANITOR positions at Virginia Episcopal School, located at 400 V E S Road, Lynchburg, VA 24503. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. More details will be provided upon interview.

Requirements: No experience necessary. Willing to train!

Job Summary

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of buildings. Perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
2. Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures.
3. Move equipment and furniture for cleaning, then replace them correctly.
4. Clean assigned areas using appropriate materials and equipment, sanitize all surfaces, and follow the eight-step cleaning procedure.
5. Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment.
6. Identify areas needing cleaning and complete tasks proactively.
7. Complete all tasks assigned by supervisors.
8. Perform duties in accordance with all federal, state, and local guidelines.
9. Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors; shampoo carpets.
10. Contribute to team efforts; exhibit professionalism with customers and colleagues.
11. Perform additional duties as assigned.
