We are hiring immediately for full-time JANITOR positions.

Location: Johnson C. Smith University - 100 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216.

Requirement: One year of prior janitorial experience required.

Pay Range: $13.00 to $14.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Maintains buildings by performing heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and rubbish removal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Disposes of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dusts and mops floors following procedures.
• Moves and replaces furniture and equipment for cleaning.
• Cleans assigned areas with appropriate materials and equipment, sanitizes surfaces, and follows the eight-step cleaning process.
• Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Identifies areas needing cleaning and takes initiative.
• Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor, following federal, state, and county guidelines.
• Strips, scrubs, buffs, and refinishes floors; shampoos carpets.
• Contributes to team efforts and maintains professionalism.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
