Job summary

Mercy Housing is seeking an organized Janitor/Custodian to join our on-site maintenance team in San Francisco. You will help provide clean, affordable housing by performing daily cleaning duties and coordinating with other staff to maintain entry areas.

Pay ranges from $22.28 to $24.47 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and time off, including PTO, holidays, and life insurance. We encourage applicants with lived experience to apply.

• Cleans and maintains entry lobby, including windows, doors, mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, daily or more as needed.
• Cleans laundry room, community room, conference room, and management offices daily.
• Vacuums hallways daily.
• Cleans community bathrooms daily to maintain sanitary conditions.

We have an immediate need for an organized, dependable Janitor/Custodian to join our maintenance staff. At Mercy Housing, you’ll join a mission-driven team committed to justice, respect, mercy, inclusion, and personal growth—where your work transforms lives and communities.
The successful Janitor will provide clean affordable housing to the residents of the community. The Janitor will work with maintenance staff to coordinate a cleaning schedule.

Pay: $22.28-24.47/hour, depending on experience

Duties

• Cleans and maintains entry lobby, including cleaning of windows, doors, mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, etc., at least daily, and more if necessary, to maintain excellent entrance appeal.
• Cleans laundry room, community room, conference room, and management offices on a daily basis.
• Vacuums hallways on a daily basis.
• Cleans community bathrooms on a daily basis (more if necessary) to maintain in a sanitary environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two (2) years experience.
