Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope (OBE) is seeking a Janitor to perform cleaning tasks in a manufacturing setting while ensuring safety standards are met. The role reports to the department supervisor and requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

The position includes trash removal, floor care, restroom sanitation, high-touch surface disinfection, window and wall cleaning, and floor scrubbing with industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and empty trash both inside and outside the facility.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum building floors.
  • Clean restrooms and restock with supplies.
  • Disinfect surfaces that are touched frequently.
  • Wash windows, walls, and glass.
  • Use industrial floor scrubber to clean production floors.
  • Remove debris from sidewalks.
  • Cleanup spills with appropriate equipment.
  • Notify managers of major building repairs.
  • Lock doors to secure buildings after cleaning.
  • Maintain cleaning inventory and notify when supplies are needed.
  • Support an environment that improves workplace organization, safety, quality and productivity.

What You’ll Get to Do

The Janitor is focused on performing cleaning tasks in a manufacturing environment and ensuring compliance with safety standards.The janitor will report to the department supervisor.

This role is perfect for an individual who has a strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and good verbal and written communication skills. A vital member of the business, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

Job responsibilities include:
  • Gather and empty trash both inside and outside the facility.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum building floors.
  • Clean restrooms and restock with supplies.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces that are touched frequently.
  • Wash windows, walls, and glass.
  • Use industrial floor scrubber to clean production floors.

  • Cleanup spills with appropriate equipment.
  • Notify managers of major building repairs.
  • Lock doors to secure buildings once cleaning is complete.
  • Maintain cleaning inventory, notifying department manager when new products and supplies are needed.
  • Work towards continuously improving workplace organization, safety, quality, and productivity, and supports an environment that empowers employees.
  • Uses required personal protective equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
