Job summary

Tessera in Bangor, WA is seeking a reliable Janitor for a full-time graveyard shift (6:00pm–2:30am). The position pays $22.61 per hour with a 4% shift differential and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Typical duties include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming, restocking supplies, collecting trash, and maintaining clean, safe work areas in all contracted sites. Prior janitorial experience is preferred; ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.

• Clean portable showers and maintain janitor lockers.
• Operate wet/dry vacuum and change light bulbs as directed.
• Lock doors after cleaning.

Tessera is seeking a driven and reliable Janitor with a positive and professional attitude.

Typical Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

• Follow industrial safety guidelines, apply safety training, and promote a safe workplace culture at all worksites.
• Communicate with customers – always be courteous and communicate professionally when talking with customers.
• Clean and sanitize rest room facilities and replenish supplies in accordance with contract standards; follow cross-contamination procedures.
• Sweep, wet/dry mop, vacuum, and dust offices, halls, and high traffic areas, door entries, stairwells, building entrances/exits, etc. in accordance with contract requirements, standards, and schedule.
• Trashing – collect and remove trash and recyclables from lunchrooms, coffee areas, restrooms, shower/locker areas, and office spaces in accordance with contract requirements, standards, and schedule.
• Restocking supplies – restock supplies daily.
• Cleaning portable showers – clean all shower stalls, damp wipe for dust, restock supplies, mop floors following cross contamination procedures.
• Maintaining janitor lockers (J-lockers) – must practice good housekeeping in accordance with EM 385-1-1 requirements by cleaning and organizing J-lockers daily. Clean and rinse all equipment before storing.
• Wet/dry vacuum – operate wet/dry vacuum for each area according to the schedule.
• May change light bulbs as directed.
• Lock doors after cleaning.
• All Other Duties as Assigned*

Qualifications:

• Prior Janitorial experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
• Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
• Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements

• A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
